There is karma in the world and in each of our lives on some level. Even babies. How can we turn our beliefs, that often develop karmic cancers, into mana, fuel for loving kindness? These rigid belief systems which deny how life naturally functions. How can we transform our relationship with our number one job of being human?
As the “Ghost of Marley” character from “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens howled, burdened by the chains of karmic weight he carried to his death, “Business, Ebenezer!?! Mankind was my business!”
Mankind truly is everywhere and is the business of living. To love and be loved, respected and honored with dignity, beauty, integrity, truthfulness, communication, faith, compassion. Our personal and collective karma isn’t meant to multiply like cancer cells. It’s meant to move us to different actions, new experiences, curiosity, wonder, and playfulness. To learn how to apply the wisdom of that learning, with a dash of humor to go with it. It’s the choice to live the truth about being human more often than we poke and fester the wounds.
The karmic messages from the wounds of not tending the business of being human when left unheeded creates more karma. How can we stop sticking our fear of that karma into the wound, in ourselves, and toward each other?
We aren’t designed to create more karmic situations and relationships because we are meant to experience more rejection, hatred, pain, or harm. We are designed to transform the karma (Sanskrit, the origin of all indo-european languages signifying the effects of a cause/action) into mana ( Māori origin, life-force energy or power) for the full and potent realization of our holy dharma (Sanskrit, cosmic law, right behavior, social order).
Our mistakes, our belief systems, our choices - conscious or unconscious- are meant to be seen, heard, and redirected to what will heal the wound and balm the scars. So they don’t hurt, quite so much. Until we’ve resolved, dissolved, and completed them all. While at the same time tending our “dharmic” duty/job, the business of being human, with all Mankind, in more truth and tender care.
P.S. If you feel called, I embark in a 7-Day exploration to resolve, dissolve, and complete some karmic debts, once and for all. To increase stamina in staying present to unconcscious behavior and to inspire more joyfully aligned and healthier new behaviors.
We begin January 4 and continue to the 11th. You come too!
